ECOLITE - IPL SKIN REJUVENATION

Registration No. 0000013

The IPL PhotoFacial procedure is becoming the most exciting and useful new cosmetic treatments for the skin. It is developed to rejuvenate the skin with a simple and convenient procedure. The high level of patient satisfaction, minimal discomfort, and no patient downtime are just a few of the advantages offered with the PhotoFacial treatments.

Using a series of treatments, the pulses of visible light applied to the surface of your skin will effectively eliminate redness, broken capillaries/spider/thread veins, age/liver/brown spots, rosacea, reduce sun pigmented lesions, improve lack of tone, enlarged pores, active acne, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles as well as stimulating collagen and providing you with a younger and fresher look.

Treatments are suitable for the face, neck, upper chest and hands.
  1. What is skin rejuvenation?
Facial skin is supported by underlying collagen and elastin, which diminish with age, causing fine lines and wrinkles to appear. Pure, non-laser, narrow-beam red light stimulates the body's own natural processes to form new collagen and elastin.
  2. What skin rejuvenation can do?
The treatment can improve skin tone and texture, lift and hydrate skin and even out pigmentation. It makes skin firmer and smoother, reducing lines and wrinkles. It can be used on the face, neck and chest as well as other areas which have been exposed to sun, such as the hands.
  3. What skin rejuvenation can't do?
Skin that has already been heavily damaged by over-exposure to sun won't benefit from this treatment, which is most helpful to skins showing early signs of lines and wrinkles.
  4. What happens during treatment?
Clients lie on a bed with eyes covered while an intense burst of light is shone on to the skin. No anaesthetic is used, and although the process may be mildly uncomfortable, many patients report a sense of general wellbeing afterwards. No recovery time is needed, but the skin may look slightly reddened. Treatments are given in courses of six to nine sessions over a three-week period. To maintain results you will need to have regular treatments.
  5. Results
The initial effect is a clearer, brighter complexion which improves with subsequent treatments.
  6. Risks
The effects of this light source as a skin enhancer were discovered through its use in hospital dermatology and oncology departments. It has been used for more than 10 years in hospitals with no side-effects. The light used doesn't have dangerous UV or infrared rays or generate heat, so it can't burn the skin. The treatment is unsuitable for anyone who suffers from epilepsy or porphyria. Avoid exposure to the sun for 24-48 hours after treatment and use sunscreen and moisturisers.
Prices vary depending upon the treatment area,
ranging from £40 upwards.

IPL FACIAL REJUVENATION / COLLAGEN STIMULATION
Wrinkles can be the result of any one, or a combination of factors including loss of collagen, sun damage, smoking, alcohol consumption and also hormonal changes. Aging itself is a large contributing factor. Collagen can decrease at a rate of 1% per year after the age of 40. Sun exposure accelerates the aging process and the loss of collagen. It also damages the collagen fibres so that it may no longer support the upper layers of the skin, which results in the formation of wrinkles.

The laser works by stimulating collagen production in the dermis of the skin. As new collagen is generated, lines and wrinkles are softened. Within several treatments, patients see their skin becoming smoother and the signs of aging fading away. Because the laser does not damage the epidermis, or upper layer of the skin, no wound is created. The treatment is most effective on the fine lines found on the face and around the mouth, and results are very natural. Treatments take around 15 minutes, and patients can continue their normal activities immediately. Additionally, the procedure can be combined with other treatments including microdermabrasion.

  1. The IPL beam initially heats the water and damages the collagen in the upper dermis without damaging the epidermis, which is protected by a coolant gel.
  2. The beam heats and damages collagen close to the surface to produce more visible results.
  3. The body's natural healing process initiates collagen remodelling as well as naturally deposited new organised collagen; this tones the visible layer of skin and reduces the visibility of wrinkles.
    Price
A single treatment costs £50. Recommended 6-9 treatments over a 3 week period and top up every 4-6wks to maintain. Course of 3 is £130, course of 10 is £400.

    ACTIVE ACNE
Similarly, active acne can be treated by way of sterilisation of the acne bacteria. ECOLITE gently penetrates the skin just below the surface heats the blood vessels that coagulate. This reduces the redness that is what makes the area feel and look sore. In addition, the heat is absorbed into the water that surrounds the bacteria and momentarily heats it to 85 degrees+ and literally kills the bacteria present in that area. It can be used most effectively twice a week for 4 weeks to produce some quite dramatic results without damaging the visible areas of skin in any way at all.

    Price
The cost is £62.50 for a single treatment. As a course, it is recommended to have 2 treatments per week for 4 weeks. Course price is £400.
